jeans, football, and the zoo...a weekend of firsts!

So labor day weekend was a weekend full of first for Isaac. He went to his very first football game to cheer on his Uncle Ronald-Go #58! We had to get a quick picture with him at half time.

Here's a few more pictures..he absolutely loved it all! He was watching the game the whole time! Which made daddy a very proud daddy because he loves football too!

Then on Monday we headed to the zoo!! Matt and  I were  so excited! Isaac loved it all! As you will tell from the pictures we had a crew that wanted to be there for his first trip! Isaac loved attacking the plants, looking at the waterfalls, and trying to grab the fences :) He loves anything outside!

7 months!

Well I don't know if this blog will be as emotional as the last one but you never know. Yesterday marked 7 months for Isaac! We are over the half way mark!  Which is exciting and of course a little sad thinking my baby is growing so fast!  The day was pretty normal because the day before we had to make a trip to sick call. Which by the way was my first experience with sick call....wow is all I can say to that it's almost like black Friday seeing parents lined up outside the office doors. Isaac had been coughing a couple of days before that or what we thought was his play cough...yes he can fake cough at times. Well Sunday and Monday he was nothing but fussy, fussy, fussy! The sick monster had arrived! Yes we have little monsters that come to visit...we first started out with the belly ache monster, the ear ache monster, the teething monster, the hungry monster, the sleepy monster and the only nice one is the tickle monster.

So we went to sick call and found out he has an upper respiratory infection. Boy did I feel like a horrible mommy not being able to tell between fake cough and sick cough :(  We got him some medicine and he seems to be doing better. I hate seeing the little guy sick. Yesterday was just a full day at home to let him get some much needed rest and recuperate. So here's a few pictures of him and the new things he can do! Which I think is amazing considering he's really only suppose to be 5 1/2 months old. I asked Dr. Beck when he should be doing things developmentally either by his due date or actual birth date. He said by his due date so we go back 6 weeks b/c he was 6 weeks early.

He amazes me with how strong he is. God blessed him with that the before he was going to be born.  Again I know I say this quite often but we can never thank God enough for the miracle He has done in Isaac. Instead of months in the hospital we were blessed with a week. We are amazed everyday we look at him. Thank you all for praying for us during this exciting journey of parenthood :) Which is amazing! So finally here's the pictures!
I can sit and play by myself now with only a few falls.

We love mr. giraffe! (thanks dana)

Mac is my play buddy too!

Tummy time which is now crawl time :)

Lunch time I like to do it on my own when mommy lets me ;)

Isaac being used by God

So I am on a roll! Two blogs in two days. I really wanted to get this one up because it's just another amazing story of God using Isaac to touch someone else's life. This weekend was a complete whirl wind of emotions. Friday morning we found out that Matt's Grandpa Robinson passed away to be with His heavenly Father. Praise God he is no longer suffering and in any pain! He was one of the most devoted ministers I have ever met and made sure that everyone he came in contact with knew Jesus the one he preached 63 years about! What a life and legacy! More on that in another blog :).....

That same day we found out Mac had fleas...which meant major cleaning and fogging the house. So Saturday we evacuate the house to Nana's while we waited for the defogging of the fleas!  Nana as soon as we hit the doors...let's go to Jonesboro to Hobby Lobby in Wal-Mart. -Being the mother I am I hesitated because I knew Isaac would have to be in the car quite a bit over the next two days for Grandpa Robinson's funeral but who can say no to Nana right?  So we headed to hobby lobby first oh how I could stay in there for hours!  We got a few things to start Isaac's scrapbooking and I find the first available checker or should I say God picked her for us. : )

Now we get up there and immediately she looks at Isaac and says how old is he?  I begin the process of explaining  he is 6 months old..we get this question every time we check out I do believe. But then she's asks a not so normal question. What day was he born on?  I said January 31st.  She said, My baby boy is the same age. He was born on January 30th. Of course I thought oh cool how neat...that thought changed after her next statement.  She then proceeds to tell me her baby was  a still born. She carried her baby the full nine months only to lose him. My heart sank. She said that he had wrapped the cord around him. She said that this was her first day back at work and that she had been wondering what her little boy would look like about now and that seeing Isaac helped make her day a little bit better.  I proceeded to ask her name which is Heidi by the way. I told her that Isaac and I would be sure to keep her in our prayers. She said be sure to hug and kiss that baby everyday, and then she said this which was even more amazing. I know that my baby in heaven is being held and loved more than I could ever.

All that in one moment. Just a check out. Now I did not even make it out the door before crying my eyes out.  My mind began racing with thoughts.  I can't imagine and then I think that was almost Isaac. If only God hadn't intervened and made it to where my appointment was changed to Monday instead of Friday...that would have been Isaac. Then of course the Why question. Why God did you not spare that baby. What plan do you have for Isaac that you saved him. Then God tells me...Isaac is going to let others see that I can still do miracles, that I am the One who can give hope, peace and love to those who need it.   This is not the first time he's used Isaac like this every time I am just more amazed and yes scared.  I think as Isaac's parents we have the responsibility of allowing God to use him and teaching Isaac to let God use him in whatever ways He wants. The decisions we make for him have huge effects. What if I would have been lazy and not went...Heidi would have never felt the peace she may have needed.

I say that to say this...(step on soap box)....as parents we are there to make those decisions for them right now until they are old enough too...like when their 18 : ) Example: because i've seen this hundred's of times. Parent to child-"do you want to go to church today?" What kind of question is that? YOU are the Parent! Of course they are going to say no so they can stay at home sleep in, watch t.v., go to their softball/baseball/basketball/football whatever practice or game.  If we don't take a stand and make the decisions that are Godly decisions for our children how do we expect them to just grow up doing things for Christ if just expect them to figure it out on their own? We must pour as much of Jesus in them as possible!

So yes I know that's alot but it's been heavy on my heart the more I replay her story and seeing our duty as parents to be the best Godly parents we know to be. One's that show our children how greatly you can be blessed if you just let God use you and listen to Him. This mother thing is so great, exciting, nerve racking, and very scary. I'm doing the best I can but I must do better in allowing God to use us as a family. I don't want Isaac to ever doubt our love for God.  So, just a bunch of random things going on in my head that I needed to put out somewhere else. I pray for Heidi today God that you would give her a love and peace only you can give.

Love,
Sarah and Isaac

6 months update

So here's our update for those of  you who would like more than a picture posted on facebook :) Haha we rarely get the laptop out these days unless it is to pay bills which to me I would much more prefer talking about Isaac Wayne than paying bills. So here's a little info on what our little man is up to these days:

He usually wakes up about 6:30 a.m.-7:00 a.m. (which is so marvelous!) P.s. always with a big grin on his face-even better :)
He then awaits patiently for his breakfast which now includes cereal, jar of fruit, and then 5-6 ounces of mommy milk.  By now he usually goes back to sleep for another 30 minutes or so. We get out of our jammies and play play play. He loves to stand up in his jumperoo and watch his one episode of yo gabba gabba for the day...he loves that show literally will watch the whole episode! Sometimes we go for a walk when it's not too hot outside. Then we eat lunch around 11:30 or 12:00 same as breakfast except we put in a vegetable. Then we play a little longer then take an hour nap...then if we're lucky we see daddy at 3:30 P.m.! If not we patiently await for daddy and have a little snack ( bottle) around 5:00 p.m. we play with daddy then get ready for bed around 8:30 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. eat then go to bed. That's the summary of the day for Isaac, Mac and I!

He is now 15 pounds or more! He's over 25 inches long! His hair seems to grow everyday! he's got more hair than Matt now I think :) He can now sit up on his own! Yay! He loves to stand up with us helping him.  He still laughs out loud, and gives you the biggest grins! He has great hand eye coordination. His new favorite thing...putting both hands on my face and pulling me in to give me a hug and big kiss....well I like to think it's a kiss really it's just him trying to bite :)

Everything gets put in the mouth for taste testing...especially our feet!  He also can roll over both ways just like it's nothing now :)  We have tried all of our vegetables and fruits! He loved them all and only had a reaction to the applesauce. He has definitely recognized Mac now and he loves him...he gets so tickled at him running around. He loves anything water...bath time, his pool time, or swimming at Uncle A's and Annie's new pool!

He really is doing great. It's absolutely amazing to watch him grow...it feels like he does it every minute right in front of me. He's getting so big so quickly!  He may be a preemie but looking at him today you would never be able to tell by all the things he can do. He really would only be 5 1/2 months old about now according to his due date. I will have to post another blog just to tell you how God reminds us of the amazing miracle He performed in Isaac and the ways He has already used him!  God is just so gracious to us....we can never thank Him enough for all the ways He has blessed us these past wonderful 6 months. Their have definitely been some bumps along the way but those are nothing compared to what others have faced.

Love,

Matthew, Sarah, Isaac and Mac

Baby Isaac...our little miracle

So this post is probably a little long overdue but we've been a little busy :) but a very good busy. Isaac has finally arrived!  For those who don't know he was born January 31, 2011 at 8:42 p.m. weighing in at a huge : ) 3pds and 4ounces.  He was 6wks early due to my amnotic fluid being low and his heart rate was up and down. So they decided it was better for him to be out rather than in.  Needless to say this was very unexpected. We went  for a check up...thank the Lord or Isaac might not have been with us. I was feeling fine, no complications other than blood pressure, wasn't feeling any different my appointment was suppose to be later that Friday instead of that Monday but it got switched because of the week before and my high blood pressure  Isn't God's perfect timing amazing and how He works out every little detail if not for Him Isaac wouldn't be here.  It was definitely a night we will never forget and love telling because of what a miracle God performed in Isaac's life. The doctors were all waiting when he came out to send him off to either Le Boneur's or Children's hospitial in Little Rock because they were sure there would be complications him being this early.

Before rushing me back for an emergency c-section the first thing Matt did was grab my hand and pray for God's hand to be upon our little boy and our doctors and to be with us and our nerves :) I have to say I have the most wonderful husband in that moment he was as cool as a cucumber through the whole thing be stronger than ever.   We went back they began to to the surgery then we hear him crying the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.  The doctors were in awe because he sounded like any other 8 pound baby coming out instead of a little 3 pounder. They were all like my he's a spunky little thing...that he is for sure :)  Matt went back with them they only had to put him on 40% oxygen instead of the normal 100% that most preemies have to be put on. He didn't have to go anywhere.

By that morning he was of the oxygen breathing on his own and only had to be in the incubator to help keep his tempture up.  Words can not express how grateful we are for God giving us such a little miracle and giving him the strength he needed.   It has been a long few tiring months but God has been so good to us and is to us all the time.  We love sharing our story so others can know that God is still in the miracle business and what a work He has already begun in Isaac's life. We can't wait to see what amazing things God  has in store for our little guy we know it must be something big!  We thank you all for your prayers, love, comfort and support through all of this but most of all glory to God. Sorry it's taken so long to get this up but we've been a little preoccupied enjoying every little mintue we can with Isaac.  Here's a few picture of then and now to see how amazing God is and what a work he has done in just three months Isaac has gained 6 pounds he is now over 9 pounds!

50 days left...

Well there are only just 50 days or sooner :) until the arrival of Isaac! It's crazy! We are oh so excited, anxious, and nervous!  We are still going every two weeks for check ups. We had a little bump in the road with my blood pressure and just to be on the safe side I've been on bed rest this week and must continue to do light activity and no stress to make sure he doesn't come too early.  We're good though God is taking great care of us and so is my wonderful husband. I'm so blessed to have such a loving and caring husband and best friend.  I thank God so much for him, our family and friends who have prayed and loved us so much through this amazing journey!

Isaac is not as quite as active as he was because he's running out of room in there! :)  I just continue to get more hungrier than ever :) I feel like now I'm home laying around that's all I want to do! I just think there's sooo much to get done before he gets here! :) I have definitely been in full nesting mode it's even harder because I'm not suppose to be up and doing alot. But matt and the family has been amazing wonderful help! I have complete faith it will be all ready for his arrival!

I thought I'd post some pictures of Isaac's nursery this far :) Which is the crib and painting and boarding is up! We are making progress! We have our baby showers coming up and we are so excited!
This one is darker because it's night and  it was taken on my phone..
Here's the day time picture and that's what the color really looks like...

Will keep you updated! Thanks for your prayers! We love you all!

Week 29!

Well, I haven't been the best mommy blogger but will be updating more since the swelling in my feet have decided to show up : ) I'll be propping up alot more over the next few weeks! Yes, we are now in the third trimester!  I can't believe it Isaac will be here in just 10 weeks! AHHHH! :) We have yet to start nursery production but thanks to the grandparents crew coming in Friday to paint and get things put together and put up that will finally get done! : )  Will post pictures as soon as well they are done I've already been instructed to stay out while painting  goes on. God has definitely been teaching me to not be so controlling over these last 7 months and that its okay to ask for help.  : ) I'm still learning though.

Let's see Isaac is now about 3 pounds and around 17 inches is what the baby book says we don't know exact measurements. I do however know, he is an awesome kicker! He loves to get moving right when Matt gets out of bed to go to work in the mornings now around 6:20 a.m. Then he gets extremely active late at night around 8:00 p.m-10:00 p.m.  There's been the occasionally 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. movements.   He also has learned his daddy's voice he responds to Matt's deep voice he's occasionally punched or kicked at him.  He does however move sometimes when I do read at night. Yes, Isaac and I have story time already together,  maybe not every night but at least a couple of times a week.

I am beginning to feel the symptoms of the third trimester. Nice lovely Shrek feet that are so swollen no shoes really fit.  Definitely tossing more at night and it takes a little longer to roll over from one side to the other : )  I feel the need to clean constantly.  I haven't had any weird cravings yet.  I do now wake up at 2 or 3 and have to get a Tums for heartburn and indigestion :) So hopefully he will have lots of hair :)

So that's the update so far. We had a very blessed Christmas enjoying the birth of our Savior.  Spending time with family and just imagining  what it's going to be like next Christmas with Isaac here.  Matt and I thank God everyday for this miracle that will soon make his appearance in this crazy world.  We pray that we will be that Godly influence that he needs and will always know where God takes first place in home.  We are so blessed to have wonderful family and friends who made sure to instill those values in Matthew and I.    We love you and hope you have a very Happy and Blessed New Year!
